Stryker complies with the AdvaMed Code of Ethics that governs interactions with Healthcare Professionals. Pursuant to these guidelines, Stryker is not permitted to facilitate or pay for meals, travel, accommodation or other expenses for spouses or guests of Healthcare Professionals, or for any other person who does not have a bona fide professional interest in the information being shared at the meeting.
In keeping with the AdvaMed Code of Ethics, should an attendee be accompanied by a guest, where food and beverage is provided, it will be necessary for the attendee to pay for his or her guest. This provision also applies to Stryker employees and Agents.
State laws enacted in Massachusetts (MA) and Vermont (VT) place limits on medical device manufacturers and their distributors when providing meals for Healthcare Professionals holding an active medical license from these states. Pursuant to these laws, Stryker is required to charge Healthcare Professionals holding an active license from these states for any meals outside of the product training meeting.
